You nod along in the lesson, then forget half of it by Thursday. Again! keeps the lesson so you can go back to it.

What it does

Records the lesson from your phone, and keeps going with the screen locked.
Writes down what was said, with the teacher and you as separate speakers you can name.
Turns the transcript into a short summary in the language the lesson was held in. You can change the prompts it uses.
Search finds the word and takes you to the exact moment in the recording.
Quiet teachers get lifted a little, without squashing the music being played.
Tap the tempo, or let the app detect it, when a teacher says "a bit slower".

Where your lessons live

Recordings, transcripts and notes stay on your phone. To transcribe a lesson, the audio is sent to our service, held just long enough to come back as text, then deleted. The summary and any question you ask about a lesson go through a language model. Nothing is used for advertising, and nothing is sold.

You sign in with Apple, and we keep a hash of that identifier rather than your name or email. Details are in the privacy policy.

Recording other people

A lesson has someone else's voice in it. Ask your teacher before you press record; the app reminds you the first time. Laws on recording differ from place to place, and that part is up to you.

Cost

There is a free allowance of transcription. Beyond that, usage is metered. The price is shown in the app before you buy anything.

Help

Something is broken, or you have an idea: Write to leo@akendi.co.uk. A person reads it.
Deleting your account: In the app: Settings, then Delete Account. This removes your account and usage records from our service. Recordings on your phone stay until you delete them or uninstall.
Transcription failed: The recording is kept on your phone. Open the lesson and try again when you have a connection.
